One of the best solutions for blood sugar problems and I have seen its usage and benefits very closely in my family which this does not produce any side effects. With the added advantage of its flavor and taste, many patients like to take Apple Cider Vinegar without break..

Apple cider vinegar helps stabiize your blood sugar in addition to many other health benefits. I love the taste, I add a little bit to some spicy V-8 juice and it actually enhances the taste and I prefer it with the cider vinegar.

Adding acid (or fiber) to a meal complicates the digestion process thereby slows the effect on blood sugar. Helps reduce the 'what goes up must do down' effect. I prefer to have a jigger of it after the meal but choosing a vinaigrette on your salad helps a lot too. Should not be taken on an empty stomach as it will cause a burning discomfort. I opt for Bragg's because it is unfiltered (contains some mother), unheated and unpasteurized. Especially useful during those times you decide to cheat with your food. If I grabbed a cookie, I'll follow it with apple cider vinegar and won't pay too much of a price. As with anything blood sugar related, YMMV.

Pros:
Cheap, all natural, effective way to reduce a blood sugar spike from a meal or snack.

Cons:
Should not be taken on an empty stomach as it causes a very uncomfortable burning sensation. Personally, it makes my inner ear itch for a few short moments, but no one else in the family experiences this. (shrug)
