Beta carotene is beta carotene is beta carotene. I don't see that the GNC brand is any better than other brands; however, I also don't see that it is any worse. It provides an essential nutrient, and an essential nutrient is a nutrient the lack of which will make one quite ill.

Pros:

trusted brand. I don't buy vitamins and minerals from fly-by-night vendors.

Cons:

Unnecessarily pricey.

One softgel capsule of GNC Beta-Carotene daily has basically served well since three months. This product is suitable for people of higher ages as my father also uses the same.

It is very rich in vitamin A which also helpful for eyes. It is sugar free even diabetic patients can get use of it.

Easy to swallow. Can be used by diabetic patients as well

Cons:

doesn't leave a good taste internally.

I take this just to help all the oxidants to be flushed away and keep everything running smooth. I didnt notice any difference when I started in 6 months ago but I believe it will help keep my insides young :)
